Nightlife Guide To Finding Fun

Traveling anywhere in the world, it’s safe to say most of us want to experience the place where we visit to its full extent. That would include experiencing the most vibrate part of any town or city, its nightlife. Locals have a tendency to kick back and let loose after a hard day’s work, or after a hard week. Either way, the community will let their guard down and enjoy themselves late into the night. There’s no better way to get to know the city, and its people, that you are visiting than experiencing its nightlife.

My goal in this article is to let you know the type of establishments you will find in the town or city you are visiting. It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting for work or for pleasure, there are different types of nightlife establishments for you to enjoy. Also safety needs to be taken into consideration, tourists can be targets from bad individuals, so it’s key to know where you’re going and where you’re visiting. Especially if you’re going to be dropping your guard and having a few drinks, planning ahead can keep you safe and sound.

NightLife Of A Live Music Club

This is the number one venue to experience local and cultural music in any town or city you visit. You’ll experience cultural banter between the stage and audience, and hear the sounds of the community from local musicians that perhaps you would have never heard of had you not travelled to that town or city. I highly recommend this type of establishment. Some offer a dinner menu before the music begins, other venues offer fast snack foods during the performance, so pick carefully by considering your circumstance. I, myself prefer to walk from one local to the other, dinner in one place and then walk for drinks and music in another.

The great aspect of this type of establishment is you can choose to go visit a sit down live music venue. You may not be in the mood for a four-on-the-floor, thumping dance club when you’re visiting a town or city for work and have to wake up at 5 am the next morning. But listening to a singer-songwriter perform on a small stage with his or her instrument sounds more appropriate for you, or maybe you want a little more fun like a jazz club. Either way, you’ll be experiencing the town’s vibrant nightlife through the community you are visiting.

Nightlife In A Piano Bar

I’m singling out Piano Bars from Live Music Clubs, because Piano Bars are a different type of venue in themselves. Piano Bars sometimes include audience participation, for example, they may take song requests. The banter from stage to the audience is usually comedic, and will have the audience on the floor laughing, especially if it’s a Dueling Piano Bar. Dueling Piano Bars are my favorite form of entertainment, they joke with each other and they argue for the audience’s affection. If you are traveling for work and you want to kick back and relax in the town, this would be my recommendation.

You can expect a more mature audience in this type of establishment, and you may be so lucky and find a heckler in the audience that will force the Piano Player to answer back. You can never predict what will happen, but you can definitely be sure that you will walk away from a Piano Bar very satisfied with your evening’s choice of entertainment.

Nightlife In A Local Comedy Club

If you like the banter from stage but can do without the music, than the local comedy club is the place for you. You’ll have a list of several comedians with different styles and jokes that you may enjoy. Be prepared to be insulted, if you walk out of a comedy club and you haven’t been insulted, even a slight bit, than you probably went to the wrong place. It’s what comedians do, some better than others. But if your goal is to get to know the town or city you are visiting, hearing how people go off on each other is the ultimate way to laugh with the locals.

If you’re travelling around a local area and you happen to visit two cities or towns and decide to walk into a comedy club in each of those places, let me warn you. Look at the set list. I once visited two different comedy clubs, not just in two different cities, but in two different states, and the same comedian was in the prime slot of the set list. Let me tell you, he wasn’t as funny the second time around. He didn’t change a word of his script, we walked away asking ourselves, what are the odds of that happening in two different states.

Anyways, I hope this article can guide you and encourage you to experience the local vibrant nightlife of the town or city you are visiting next. These are only some suggestions for you to consider and be satisfied the next time you are visiting a new place for work or pleasure. Don’t be afraid to experience that town or city to its fullest, so that you can return home with stories and adventures to tell all you family and friends.
